                  THis week we have been looking at

;Modal verbs in the Past.

The dreaded !!!! agreeing or disagreeing (So  do I etc,)

Giving and asking for permission to do so

Both/ neither /nor

The dreaded agreeing or disagreeing (I hated this topic!!! So did I!!!!! I didn’t)

Giving or asking for permission more or less formally ( From Can …….  Could …..Do you mind if …… Would you mind)

(SHE HAS A CHILD AND HE HAS A CHILD. )

NEITHER is negative NEITHER OF THEM HAS A CAR.

SHE DOESN’T HAVE A CAR AND HE DOESN’T HAVE A CAR.

BOTH + PLURAL VERB + AND

BOTH JOHN AND MIKE COME FROM IRELAND.

NEITHER + SINGULAR VERB + NOR

Neither SUE NOR JIM COMES FROM FRANCE!

SIMILARITIES(agreeing with someone)  (BEGIN WITH SO/NEITHER AND USE THE SAME AUXILIARY VERB). IN NEGATIVE SENTENCES MAKE IT POSITIVE.

I’M FEELING HAPPY. SO AM I
I HAVE A DOG. SO HAVE I
I’M NOT HAPPY. NEITHER AM I (positive verb)
JOHN WASN’T IN ROME

    NEGATIVE statement

NEITHER WAS SUsan.(positive)
