Maurizio Gibin
Dr. Gibin is also part of the team that developed the world version of the national trust names. Both the projects are focusing on investigating the distribution of surnames and allow users to trace the geography of their family names.In September 2008, Dr. Gibin joined Birkbeck, University of London as a Lecturer in Geographic Information Science, having the opportunity to work in two different research environments, enjoy teaching and strengthening the research links between CASA – the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at University College London (UCL) – and Birkbeck College.
Maurizio Gibin’s research interests are spatial analysis, geovisualisation, geographic data analysis of socio-economic and population data, health geography, geodemographics, geoweb 2.0 applications to deploy geographic information, web cartography and analytical design in thematic mapping.
