Local transport
Cagliari has an efficient local bus service provided by CTM, the local bus company. You have to buy tickets in advance, and validate your ticket onboard.
Bus tickets are sold at newsagents’, bus stations, self-service machines, and CTM Points such as bars that display the CTM Point logo. You can buy single or one-day tickets, or you can choose 1 – month, 6 – month or 12 – month cards.
CTM has recently inaugurated University Express, a new bus connection from Cagliari to Cittadella Universitaria and Policlinico (University Hospital) in Monserrato.
Cagliari is linked with Cittadella Universitaria and Policlinico in Monserrato also with Metro Cagliari by ARST with journey times of just 20 minutes. Tickets are sold at metro stations and self-service machines.
Climate
Sardinia is renowned for its warm climate. Summer is dry and very warm and temperatures can range between 30-40°C. Autumn and spring can be subject to heavy rainstorms.
The coldest months are January and February, but snow falls only in the central areas. It is a really windy island: northwest wind (maestrale) and the southwest one (scirocco) are very frequent.
