Tax Identification Code and Taxation

Before your arrival in Cagliari we provide you with the Italian Tax Identification Code (Codice Fiscale – C.F.).

You should inform us if you have already worked or studied in Italy because you should have the Italian Codice Fiscale, it never expiries.

The Tax Identification Code is compulsory in Italy, and it is free of charge. It is required, for example, to apply for the permit of stay, to sign a contract, to register with the Italian National Health Service, to open a bank account, to rent a flat.

When you arrive in Cagliari we help you register with the local tax office, the National Social Security Institute (INPS – Gestione Separata). In Italy all workers, even foreigners, are subject to taxation according to their Italian income.
