I am SEYED ALIREZA HOSSEINI KAKHAK (Ali), associate professor of exercise physiology (Ph.D.) and academic staff (faculty member) at Hakim Sabzevari University (Sabzevar, IRAN). I am married and I have a boy (12 years).

I am here to spending my sabbatical leave at the University of Cagliari because my research field in IRAN is almost similar to that of Professor Antonio Crisafulli. There was an opportunity for me to increase my knowledge and experience about sports medicine and exercise physiology in general and exercise testing, metaboreflex and metabolic syndrome studies in specific, and Antonio provided the opportunity for me. I think international relation is a key to success in academic achievement and that’s mutual benefit. Indeed, the professor Antonio Crisafulli is one of the best sports scientists that I have ever seen. Antonio’s character and knowledge is admirable. He can be considered the pioneer of Ischemic preconditioning (IPC) in sport and exercise, his papers in high impact factor international peer-reviewed journals approve this statement. The exercise physiology laboratory of the university has advanced equipment and it would be definitely be said that high quality and applied research perform in the lab. At the moment, the main focus of research is hypoxic experiments and mental task. They are trying to test the new hypothesis in this area. I hope we can perform some joint research between our university and the University of Cagliari. I am going to publish some articles with Antonio and other colleagues at UNICA, as well. The colleagues and students are very friendly and we have a nice academic and working relationship. I almost have no problem in university. Cagliari is a beautiful city and the public transportation is comfortable. However, most people, sellers, office staffs and landlords can’t speak English, but it doesn’t matter, instead the people are kind and gentle.
