Annesha Sil – PhD Student
I am presently a PhD Student in Neuroscience in the Section of Neuropsychopharmacology, at the University of Cagliari, Italy. Born and brought up in Calcutta, India, I did my Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology at VIT University, Vellore, India followed by an MSc in Neuroscience(with a specialization in Addiction Biology) at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, United Kingdom. My research interests mainly include working with drugs of abuse to delineate the processes involved in various stages of addiction. Currently, I am working in trying to understand how genetic components may affect the Gateway Hypothesis in addiction, besides also working on using viral mediated dopamine receptor blockage to study addiction.
