Moon Mapping

Since 2015 the TeleGIS Laboratory is partner, through the Italian Space Agency (ASI), of the Sino- Italian scientific cooperation program for the analysis and processing of satellite data of the Moon. The project is supervised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R. China (MOST), the National Remote Sensing Center of China and the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). The project leaders and coordinators for the organization and implementation of the project are ASI and the Center of Space Exploration, Ministry of Education of China. The main aim of this program is the involving of students from the Chinese and Italian universities involved in the project. The students will carry out joint researches on the generation of the lunar geological structure map, element distribution map, three-dimensional digital topographic map, microwave brightness temperature map and solar wind ion map.
