He previously was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of T\u00fcbingen, Germany and completed his doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on learning algorithms particularly in the context of security-sensitive application domains. He investigates the vulnerability of learning to security threats and how resilient learning techniques can mitigate such security threats. He was a co-chair of the ACM Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Security in 2012 and 2013 and he was a co-organizer of a Dagstuhl Workshop entitled \u201cMachine Learning Methods for Computer Security\u201d in 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As\u00a0<strong>Distinguished Visiting Scholar<\/strong> he will be at the University of Cagliari <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/pralab.diee.unica.it\/en\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Pra Lab, DIEE<\/span><\/a>)<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<strong>from 1st to 31st March 2014.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blaine Nelson\u00a0is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Potsdam, Germany.
