The Research activity of the Section is carried out in Laboratories properly equipped for handling microorganisms and viruses of biosafety level 2 and 3, for the study of natural microbial communities, also through the use of molecular biology methods, and for the evaluation of ecotoxicity.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

COOPERATIVE LABORATORY UNICA-IDENIX – MACCHIAREDDU<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Cooperative laboratory IDENIX\/UNICA for antiviral research activity, created in cooperation with IDENIX, US Pharmaceutical Company; within this cooperation it has been discovered and developed valopicitabine<\/em><\/em>, the first specific antiviral against Hepatitis C viris.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
