He is also the coordinator of the Endocannabinoid Research Group in the Naples region, and the director of the Joint International Research Unit between the Italian National Research Council and Universit\u00e9 Laval, for Chemical and Biomolecular Research on the Microbiome and its impact on Metabolic Health and Nutrition (<a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"http:\/\/www.umilaval.cnr.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UMI-MicroMeNu<\/a>). He holds a master\u2019s degree in chemistry&nbsp; from the University of Naples \u201cFederico II\u201d in 1983, and a PhD in biochemistry from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London in 1988. He is co-author of over 760 articles published in peer-reviewed journals (H index 131 according to Scopus).
