Roberta Dessì is currently working in the European Parliament in Brussels, as a Schuman trainee in the Secretariat of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO).

She graduated in Law summa cum laude from the University of Cagliari, Italy, in 2011 with a thesis in European Constitutional Law on: ‘Parliaments and European democracy’. During the last year of her Master’s degree she spent a semester in the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

She also holds a LL.M in ‘Parliaments and Public Policies’ from the School of Government of the LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, Italy. She graduated with honors in 2012, with a final dissertation in European Parliamentary Law, titled: ‘The role of National Parliaments in the light of the new European Economic Governance: the cases of Denmark and Ireland’.

In 2013 she has been selected for the ‘Advanced Graduate Seminars on Parliamentary Studies and Researches Silvano Tosi’, a post-graduate School of the University of Florence directly funded by the Italian Chamber of Deputies and the Italian Senate of the Republic.

Since March 2012 she is registered in the Special Register of practicing lawyers of the BAR Association in Cagliari, Italy.

Since 2011 she has worked as a teaching assistant with Professor Gianmario Demuro (Professor of Constitutional Law at the School of Law of the University of Cagliari) in Constitutional Law and in European Governance and Multi-level Protection of Rights, and as a tutor during the Summer School “Europe, Regions and Human Rights 2012”.

During the “Europe, Regions and Human Rights Summer School 2012”, Roberta has hold a seminar concerning the protection and enforcement of social and economic rights.
