Prof. John Finlay

John Finlay joined the School of Law of the University of Glasgow in 1998 and has taught in a wide range of areas of private law. He has been an Adviser of Studies since 2000 and Chief Adviser of Studies in Law since 2006. His research specialism is legal history and he has a particular interest in the history of the legal professions of Europe and the Americas…

Prof. Jim Murdoch (School of Law International Officer)

Professor Jim Murdoch joined the School of Law in 1979 after qualifying as a solicitor. He read Law as an undergraduate at Glasgow and has an LLM from the University of California at Berkeley. He was Head of the School of Law between 1996 and 2000. He has taught at the Universities of Mainz and Hamburg and was a professeur stagiaire with the Directorate of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in France.

Prof. Tom Guthrie (Dean of Learning and Teaching)

Professor Guthrie has wide interests in private law and in human rights. He teaches, amongst other things, Property Law and Intellectual Property. He has written books on Property Law and on Social Work in Scotland and has written on child care, cohabitation and family law, mental health and community care issues. Tom is Dean of Teaching and Learning in the College of Social Sciences.

Prof. Rosa Greaves (Head of School)

Professor Rosa Greaves specialises in European commercial law and most of her research and publications are in this area.
