We are pleased to welcome you to ERHR of the University of Cagliari.

Please find  enclosed all useful information for your stay in Cagliari and programme of ERHR Summer School 2013 in attachment.

 

How to get from the  airport to the city

From June 9th 2013 the airport is easily accessible by train from Cagliari and all major Sardinian cities thanks to the new ‘Elmas Aeroporto’ railway station. The rail service starts at about 5 am and ends after 9 pm with 20 mins. average frequency. The journey to and from downtown takes 5-7 mins, single fare is 1.25 euro. Tickets are sold by Trenitalia at the vending machine located inside the station, online and by official ticket counters and authorized dealers.

The airport train station is just a 5 minutes’ walk from the air terminal: travel by train from and to any major Sardinian location is now possible and environment-friendly. Hotel

Your Hotel Regina Margherita is located in the center of Cagliari in Viale Regina Margherita 44. In order to get there, once you arrive in Piazza Mateotti you have to go straight ahead in Via Roma (having the port on your right side) and then in Piazza Giovanni Amendola turn left and take Viale Regina Margherita. It should take about 10 minutes.

Taxis and Car  

Telephone numbers for taxis in Cagliari are 070 400 101 and 070 6655.

It is also possible to rent a car in airports, ports or in town. Check the internet for companies and locations.

 

Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

All of your meals are included and served in your hotel where you are kindly requested to check time of meals.

 

Location of lectures:

The course begins with a general initial meeting in which we will be able to check or complete your registration.

All participants are warmly welcome to the meeting at 10 am in Cagliari, on 13.07.2013,  at the old University Library .

How to get there?

The distance from your Hotel to the old University Library is about 500m. Once you go out from your hotel continue the Viale Regina Margherita and arrive at the Bastion San Remy that you will see in front of you, take the stairs and continue walking on your left side where is the only downhill with which will start Via Università. After 50 metres you will find the old Library on your left.

 

All lectures, from Monday to Friday, as well as workshops will take place in the Faculty of Law, via Nicolodi, 102, opposite the Roman Amphitheatre, “AULA MAGNA”.

Lectures will be given from 9 am to 1 pm, whereas workshops from 3 pm to 5 pm.

 

Reimbursement:

You can claim and be reimbursed for your travel costs (flight + travel to/from airport) from the University of Cagliari (your Project Coordinator) at the end of the Intensive Programme, upon condition that:

a. University of Cagliari is provided with your:

– Original Boarding passes.

If you are going to submit electronic boarding passes, please write on them the following declaration:

Expense claimed only on project Erasmus IP “European, Regions and Human Rights” and sign them.

– Flight receipts.

In case you stay more than the 11 days foreseen, please provide evidence that the flight cost is not higher than it would be if you left on the departure day planned. Should the cost be higher, please note that according to the Programme policy, you will be entitled only to be reimbursed for the lower amount.

– Original Taxi/bus receipts (only routes to/from airport)

– Travel Costs Report .

b. You sign the attendance sheet every day during stay

c. You provide the University of Cagliari project coordinator, Anna Maria Aloi , with the Final Report before leaving Cagliari.

Cost of stay:

University of Cagliari will organize accommodation and meals and will cover these expenses for you during the agreed 11 days. No other form of Subsistence Allowance will be given to participants.

It is very important that you keep and send all the original boarding passes/receipts etc. to your Project Coordinator in due course after the Intensive Programme. In fact, once you will send the original copy of the above mentioned documentation to the University of Cagliari, the latter will check and approve them, and then release the funds for your reimbursement.

University computer service:

The university Wi-Fi system will be available for all participants after getting password from the ISMOKA.

Insurance

Students must take out insurance against accidents covering the duration of their stay in Cagliari. The policy covers any accident that might occur during didactic activities and it may be provided by their home university.

Medical Assistance

EU students must have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or a temporary certificate as a substitute for the card. This entitles them to the right to access medical assistance provided by the National Health Service.

Welcome package

In the welcome package you will find touristic brochures, tourist information, textbooks, stationery material.
